I took up this role of being Celefest student exco was because it provided a new opportunity to learn something new. I was in charge of the scheduling and I realised that it was not easy job. If somebody pulled out, or was not happy with the timings I assigned them, I had to change the entire schedule and that alone took hours. Furthermore, I had to plan schedule for two stages. Thus, me doing this for the first time could not manage. Luckily, I had help from my other student exco members and the helpers and together we managed to work out a schedule. I have been in this school for 5 years now and experienced 2 Celefests so far and this year's Celefest would be my last. I really wanted to make this a memorable one for me and raise as much money for MILK and the school.
I had to plan the schedule such that it would be fun for everyone, and get attractive bands to perform to get more people to attend Celefest. There were no doubt several downs in this event. For the rock out concert, several bands were so attracted by the cash price such that some did not want to give the entire band an equal share. Therefore, we decided to split the money for the bands to avoid any unfairness. The worst thing that happened during this event was that during Celefest, one of the performers did not get the edited schedule and could not make it at that time so I had to change the entire schedule. Luckily, another performer filled in at that time slot and everything flowed well. All in all, I really enjoyed working as a Student Exco and cannot thank the support I had from my fellow members of the student exco and the helpers as well as the PSP and most importantly, my guidance, Severin Goh. Celefest 2009 turned out to be a huge success and everyone had a good time.
